While the fair is slated to officially debut in 2026, Powerhouse Arts will stage a preview of what’s to come between May 8 and 11 (an invite-only opening reception is on May 7). At the organization’s iconic facility in Gowanus, the soft launch will highlight key ways in which Conductor hopes to set itself apart from other art fairs, namely a reduced barrier for entry by focusing on young galleries and new talent. Booth fees are reduced such that participants can connect with collectors in a more low-stakes environment.
Among the artists featured are MAHKU (Brazil), through Carmo Johnson Projects; Gabriella Torres Ferrer (Puerto Rico), with Embajada; Ray Smith (Mexico/U.S.), the collective Mono Rojo (Mexico), and Fabien Capello (France/Mexico), all with AGO Projects; Tracey Moffatt (Aboriginal Australia), with Tyler Rollins Fine Art; Khaled Jarrar (Palestine), Modupeola Fadugba (Nigeria), and Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya (Indonesian-Thai diaspora), presented by PHA; and Suchitra Mattai (Guyana/South Asian descent), with Roberts Projects.
