Hayworth connected with Miami-based artist, Lauren Shapiro, on the occasion of her site-specific installation at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens entitled Pastiche. On view from October 23, 2024, and running through May 19, 2025, the exhibition took place at the beautiful and historic Miami museum as part of their Contemporary Arts Program (CAP). Through this relationship, Hayworth has continued to work with the artist's studio to publicize and promote public art projects including the artist's esteemed Collected Forms site-specific commission at MSC Cruise Terminal produced with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
A noted ceramicist and explorer, Lauren Shapiro integrates ceramics and technology to uncover and communicate insights from the natural world, often collaborating with scientists to collaborate on exploratory expeditions across the diverse ecosystems of South Florida and beyond. Combining photogrammetry and traditional mold making with other ceramics media, her work is elevated by the incorporation of modern techniques to depict flora and fauna.
Hayworth offers key messaging support to communicate the artist's unique process, developing press materials and newsletters in support of exhibition & programming announcements. Hayworth liaises with the press to place articles of record about the exhibition including with Florida Design Magazine, The Art Newspaper, Lifestyles South Florida, and Miami New Times. Hayworth further collaborated to offer a comprehensive website update and supported the coordination and promotion of community programs Shapiro undertakes.
Participating as a guest on the Haywire podcast, Lauren Shapiro spoke about her experience experimenting with new forms of research and artistic techniques during an art residency program with the Artists in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE). Expanding on digital and print media, Lauren's work reaches a broader audience on Spotify from this interview and discussion about her ceramics.
